really flexible camera but shutter too slow, August 25, 2011 This review is from: NEW PShot SX230HS 12.1MP HD-Blue (Cameras & Frames) (Office Product) I bought this camera hoping to get a shorter shutter delay than my present Nikon S510 and to get the high speed video for a data camera. The camera has great flexibility because of the automatic and manual controls and is fun to use with the adequate wide angle and awesome 14x stabilized zoom. I usually get sharp images with hand-held 14x zoom. In auto mode compensates for backlighting, a frequent issue for me. But auto does not have a forced flash so sometimes it is necessary to change to P to force the flash for a backlighted scene. The high speed video works as expected, but is limited to either 2 or 4 minutes depending on the speed selected, probably enough for my purposes. I like the separate video start button and that the playback button will activate without opening the lens if the camera is off. The BIG disappointment is the shutter delay is too long to capture any thing that moves, the delay is about half a second. Too bad. So, it is great for landscapes but not for... Read more
