I have long been a Fuji fan; however, was greatly disappointed with the model I bought before this. I tried to switch to a Canon but was not satisfied with the quality of the photos. After purchasing this camera, we went to Hawaii. I took over 2400 photos and printed over 300 of them (only the best, you know). I had some enlarged to 30" X 22" and have them hanging in my office. People view these photos with awe. I also used the panorama setting and took some amazing panorama photos as well as videos. Fuji, you won back my loyalty.

I have always bought Canon point and shoot's until now, but I have been increasingly disappointed with the quality of the photos, especially on cloudy days and low light settings like dusk. I love taking high quality beautiful photos, but I have never taken the time to learn how to take great pictures. I expect the camera to do all the work, whether it is shooting people, landscapes, macro mode, or the model number off the cable box. In the past, Canons always did that for me. I was getting frustrated, and so I went in search of a new camera. I went to the electronics store and was helped by an extremely avid photographer who went through the different brands in great detail, answering every question I threw at him. In the end, I narrowed it to the Panasonic Lumix line and this Fujifilm camera. I cannot vouch for all Fujifilm cameras, but this one I can fully recommend... Read more

Unexpected problems, poor customer service, January 10, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Fujifilm FinePix F550EXR 16 MP CMOS Sensor Digital Camera with 15x Optical Zoom (Red) (Electronics) We have used this camera with great pleasure for about 4 months, taking wonderful pictures of our infant daughter. It has been easy to use, despite its quirks (going in and out of the video can be more user friendly), in general, and we especially enjoyed its extensive zoom capability, and its impressive red color! All this until its flash mode selector started failing. Over the past couple of days, we are stuck at the "no-flash" mode, as the flash sign with a bar across it. Even in an almost completely dark room, the flash would not come on, since we cannot set it at the "auto" mode again. Resetting the camera did not change anything. This is our first Fujifilm camera. We had never had such mechanical problems with the numerous Canons or Nikons we had used in the past.
We first looked at our past orders screen at Amazon. Even though it has been more than 4 months since the purchase, there was an active "return item" button. When we tried it, we were led to speak... Read more
